California Texas Chopper Motorcycle

American Ironhorse Texas ChopperEric’s 2004 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper motorcycle. when it comes to factory manufactured chopper motorcycles, it’s my humble opinion that the American Ironhorse Texas Chopper and the Big Dog  K-9 are two of the classic and best built chopper’s!

We did this video in front of San Diego Harley Davison on Marina Boulevard  here in San Diego. many other motorcycle riders and most of the general public when looking at the Texas Chopper believe that it is a rigid frame model because of the low seat position and no visible rear shock absorbers.

Ironhorse Texas ChopperBut, if you get down, and look under the frame you’ll notice that there are two heavy-duty shock absorbers for the rear wheel. yes, the Texas Chopper certainly looks like a rigid frame model motorcycle (which are very uncomfortable to ride – especially in cities like San Diego where the road conditions aren’t optimal) but, in actuality because of the rear shock absorbers and the hydraulic forks in the front, the Texas Chopper really provides a very comfortable ride.

Naturally, because of the very long wheelbase, extended front end and a substantial rake, these bikes certainly do not handle like a standard Harley-Davison! But, then again they don’t look anything like a standard Harley Davison! Personally, and I know it’s obviously very subjective, when it comes to looks, anytime my Texas Chopper is parked with other Harleys, it always draws a small crowd.

For me, the Texas Chopper Ironhorse motorcycle has great looks, is comfortable to ride and has an engine (power) that is bigger than any current Harley Davison V-twin engine. What more could one want in a high-powered motorcycle?

It’s unfortunate, but the great recession took out the American Ironhorse in 2008! Actually, in 2008 American Ironhorse changed the design of the Texas chopper with a frame that had a single down tube, a bigger and totally redesigned gas tank  and the saddle height that was just a little lower than the 2007 models.

Please take a moment, and leave a comment what you think about the Texas chopper versus other motorcycles?

Thank you for the oppotunity for this interview to expose the trip that I was able to do with my dad. We also like that we are able to expose our love for the motorcycles n custom motorcycles.

This is one amazing interview! Wow, to ride a chopper across the country . . . I’m in my 30s and I don’t think I could do that.

Congratulations to you and your dad!
