 Los Angeles Motorcycle Crash

LA  Motorcycle accident on the section of Mulholland Highway called the Snake!

This motorcycle rider was surprisingly OK and actually road his bike home after his Triumph high-sided on a section of Mulholland Highway called the Snake.

The motorcycle rider said he was concentrating on the guy behind and the turn took him completely by surprise. He panicked & hit the rear brake only.

Panic break on the rear and this is what happens (clearly locked up the rear in the video). That’s why trail braking is a good technique to learn, even for street riding.

It seems this motorcycle rider was inexperienced and did not want to commit to the turn. Yes, looks like he was going a little fast but braked instead of leaned, and therefore continuing in a forward motion and hit the guardrail.

I would say the motorcycle speed was not really a big factor in this accident, as you can see later the next motorcycle rider they were yelling at was going double what this guy was doing when he went down … proving the motorcycle speed was not a major factor.

Gotta remember your body follows your chin . . . his chin stayed facing the guardrail and so his body continued. into and over the guardrail.
