Chopper Motorcycle Ride

Chopper Motorcycle Ride

This chopper motorcycle ride departed early from College Avenue and Highway eight in San Diego with three chopper motorcycle riders. One of the riders, Jose, came down from Oceanside California. We left early in the morning to avoid the August hot weather. Because of the hot weather, we chose to write up the Mount Laguna and the old gold mining town of Julian California.

So, starting at a couple hundred feet elevation, we ended up going up in elevation to 4,226 feet! once we got up to Mount Laguna it was just perfect blue skies with a couple of clouds and great motorcycle riding weather! Read more »

360° Motorcycle Ride

 360° Motorcycle Ride

The motorcycle in the video is a 2006 American Ironhorse Texas Chopper. The camera that’s being used is a Samsung Gear 360. The video is just as it came out of the camera with no post editing or color correction whatsoever. well, I guess I should add that I did put the title of our website in the video and if you use your cursor and scroll up to look towards the sky eventually you’ll see the URL which because of the 360° format is turned into a circle.   360° Motorcycle Ride – – –

When viewing the video, you should see a directional arrow in the upper left-hand corner that you could click on to change the view while the video is playing. Also, by moving your computer cursor on the video itself when it’s playing you can also change the direction of the view. when viewing videos like this in a virtual reality headset, just moving your head in any direction changes the view on the screen and it feels like your practically  riding this high-powered custom chopper. for best results when viewing this video you can change the resolution up to 4K.

This is my main chopper motorcycle and it has an S&S 117 cubic inch V-twin engine. the Texas chopper has a 280 rear tire and six speed transmission. Read more »

American Ironhorse Motorcycle

American Ironhorse Motorcycle Ride

San Diego East County motorcycle ride,  Mount Laguna, Sunrise Highway.

Eric’s bike featured in this video, is a 2004 American Iron horse Texas Chopper with the 111 in.³ S&S engine. This motorcycle was given to him by his dad who was the original owner of the bike. Eric rode this bike across country from Florida to San Diego California.

American iron horse produced a number of different motorcycle models, their top-of-the-line flagship model was the Texas Chopper. In my personal opinion the Texas chopper and the Big Dtheog K-9 model are two of the best factory built chopper motorcycles ever! Read more »

Julian Motorcycle Ride

Julian Motorcycle Ride

A motorcycle ride from San Diego Harley-Davidson to Julian California on a great San Diego day.

1869 gold was discovered  in  Coleman Creek, just west of Julian. Even today, if you know where to go, you can still find a few gold flakes in Colman Creek. Today, Julian is more of a tourist town, better known for its apple pies than for gold mining. Though, there is an inactive gold mine that does provide tours for the tourist, right in the heart of town. Read more »

A Motorcycle Ride To Remember

A Motorcycle Ride To Remember

By Bob Schwartz

 motorcycle ride

It was a week before Thanksgiving and the wife and I were staying in the Scottsdale area of Phoenix, Arizona. We had gone there for a couple days to relax and take in the sights. Unfortunately, the forecast was for a couple days of rain, and because of job commitments, we just couldn’t change our itinerary.

On the drive out from San Diego, there were just a couple of areas of rain and within about 45 min. the rest of the 6 1/2 hour trip was basically under cloudy skies. I had taken my helmet, motorcycle jacket and boots because I was planning on taking a look at a motorcycle that was offered for sale that was about an hour and a half north of Phoenix. I thought that if the bike looked good and I could reach an acceptable price with the seller, I would just ride it back to San Diego.

Unfortunately, as things turned out, for the four days that we were in Scottsdale it rained every day. We still managed to take in a couple of the sites and my wife went on a three hour tour of the Frank Lloyd Wright residence and school located on the eastern end of town.

I was planning on taking a look at the motorcycle for sale while my wife was on her tour, but, the weather was so bad I just had to call and cancel because I did not relish the fact that I would have to ride about three hours round-trip in rainy thunderstorm conditions. Read more »
