American IronHorse Motorcycles

I currently own a 2006 Texas Chopper and have owned a 2004 Texas Chopper and a 2006 Legend model. All were are are great looking and riding choppers!

Yes, Its a damn shame this company went out of business. In my opinion, they made the best factory built bikes in the world

American IronHorse Motorcycles – So far, I have owned two American IronHorse Texas chopper’s (2004 & 2006) and one Legend model (2006) IronHorse chopper.
Not only are these bikes, real head turner’s, but they also provide plenty of power and excellent handling.

You could have ordered them with three different size S&S engines: 111ci (the most popular), 117ci and the 124ci. Even today, I believe Harley Davidson does not have an engine as large as 111ci. Also, all the S&S engines that I’ve seen on various American IronHorse models have been polished & if you ordered the additional chrome package (see photo below) that included a fully chromed engine!

When I was researching factory built choppers, it came down to American IronHorse and Big Dog. Naturally, I ultimately went with American IronHorse, but believe I’ve would’ve been equally satisfied with the K-9 model Big Dog.

It’s really unfortunate, but the downturn in our economy caused both these custom motorcycle manufacturers to declare bankruptcy. I guess it’s just the fact that when things get tough, it’s very hard, if not impossible, to justify a $35,000 new garage toy.

Because of their popularity and use of the very dependable S&S engines, finding replacement parts for having the bikes or having them serviced by motorcycle mechanics has been relatively easy. So, the demand for these motorcycles still remains strong.

I’ll stay with my little 250 scooter. It does everything I need and is a lot easier on gas.

Harleys are for idiots with more money than brains or guys too afraid of performance machinery, litre sport bikes rule the 8000 to 14000 rev range (it’s a rush, trust me) .

I have a 2005 AIH with a 124″ let me tell you, it is a rush and a bad ass bike. Comparing a crotch rocket to a Chopper is like comparing an airplane to a train, whats your point? Your crotch rocket will get you a fraction of the looks, and a fraction of the resale.

Any fool that would compare his Corvette to a motorcycle is a double douche. No comparison as I have driven/ridden both.
