Here in Southern California there are quite a lot of Hot-Rod and motorcycle shows. Probably the vast majority of the shows, because they are mixed with Hot-Rods and motorcycles, only provide a trophy for the best in show for motorcycles while the Hot-Rods usually have a number of categories for trophies.
As far as motorcycle only shows, there are just a few. Most of these, almost always have numerous categories as well as the best in show. Personally, I think these are the only fair way to judge motorcycles for these types of shows. Really, how would you judge a beautifully it restored flat track racer against a totally custom chopper?
Also, having attended a lot of the shows, I think we’re really lucky here in Southern California because a lot of the shows are totally free to enter, as they are supported by the local merchants/Chamber of Commerce in order to have an event that draws lots of people into their business areas. Cajon Classic Cruise
Truck or Treat tonight 10-29-14 from 5PM -8PM at the corner of Main Street and Magnolia Avenue in downtown El Cajon.
This marks the last of the Cajon Classic Cruse nights for the year. There are hundreds of hot rods & classics on display as well as trophies for best decorated car & a kids & adult costume contest.

The Halloween auto and motorcycle show in the city of El Cajon, California (which is just east of San Diego) is more of a local city event then an actual show.
