This was a crash of a Harley rider doing motorcycle stunts at a Harley Davison bike night event in San Diego California. although the crash looks bad the motorcycle rider escaped with just a few bruises. It also looked like the Harley just ended up with a couple of minor scrapes.
These Harley motorcycle riders were doing wheelies and other motorcycle stunts right on Marina Boulevard in front of the San Diego Harley-Davidson dealership. personally, I think you’re really stretching the envelope when you do any type of motorcycle riding stunts. But, this is especially true when you do them on a heavy Harley-Davidson motorcycle!

In this photo from the video it’s plain to see the guy who was standing on the center divider filming the riders as this bike goes down heading straight for him!
Adding to the difficulty, and danger, of the stunts these motorcycle riders were doing was the fact that Marina Boulevard was not close down to regular traffic with two lanes of traffic going in each direction it would be really common to see one of these riders pretty much vertical in one lane with a car right alongside in the next lane.
I’m positive that all these Harley-Davidson riders and extremely quick reaction times, but what about an elderly grandma riding alongside her Toyota Prisis? now, don’t get me wrong I enjoyed this stunt riding as much as anyone. All I’m saying is that I think it would be much safer not only for the motorcycle riders but also for the car drivers if these stunts were performed in the motorcycle training area just alongside the dealership instead of in a public street.
This is not the first bike night I’ve gone to a disk location where one of the riders lay down his bike. Yes, I’ve seen at least two other instances of motorcycle accidents at these bike night events just in the last year. Luckily, well,, at least so far, there have been no serious injuries or property damage.
Just imagine what would happen let’s say in the accident shown in my video above if there was a car going in the opposite direction just at the same time as this bike went down. Obviously, in such a case not only with the odds of the motorcycle rider sustaining serious injury to himself and his bike be substantially increased, but I believe it would be a front-page story, and negative publicity, in the San Diego Union Tribune!
