Video Motorcycle Tips

Tips for using a GoPro to capture video of your motorcycle rides.

The very popular and tiny, high definition Gopro hero camera makes recording your special motorcycle rides very easy.

This is the first in a series about ideas and tips for motorcycle riders who would like to capture some of their rides.

Although there are a number of small video cameras on the market now, if you’re looking for the best bang for the buck. I believe the Gopro Hero 3 Black edition is your best bet.

Some additional Hero3 notes:
Has a 4K shooting mode … even most high-end consumer camcorders can not record in this new HD format. Ok, it’s just 15 frames per second in 4k, big deal!

The Hero3 shoots 12, 7, or 5-megapixel stills, and has a number of burst or time-lapse photo modes. Burst shooting can capture 30 shots in a second, while continuous shooting mode can capture 3, 5, or 10 photos per second. Time-lapse mode offers 0.5-, 1-, 2-, 5-, 10-, 30-, and 60-second intervals for shots.

The Hero3 has built-in Wi-Fi & comes w/a great remote. Keep in mind, if you are using the Wi-Fi, this could be a good reason for a second battery for long rides.

Also, because the GoPro has been around for some time and it’s huge popularity, there is a huge after-market in all sort of accessories.

Hey, do you do anything to your videos, editing wise? Especially with the longer mounts like you use to film yourself, your videos seem MUCH more steady than mine. Great vids!
